Located on the border of Kirkland and Bellevue, below the South Kirkland Transit Center, our campus is a former orchard where historic Chestnut, Apple, and Pear trees, and a natural play yard provide students with many unique opportunities for indoor and outdoor learning.

Chestnut Montessori School is rooted in the belief that children are uniquely capable to absorb abstract concepts presented in a way that sparks the child’s spirit and imagination. We provide a rich, natural learning environment surrounded by chestnut, apple and maple trees crafting a beautiful background to our 3 classrooms, 3 outdoor play areas, a soccer field and gardens. Classrooms can accommodate children ages three through twelve. Each classroom provides a rich environment, specially prepared according to the Montessori philosophy.

Our students learn about their world through real-life activities and a science-based curriculum that has been prepared to support independence and creativity. Children can transition among the various curriculum areas including, Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Geography, Science, Botany and Zoology.

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM

We have two Early Childhood classrooms, Garden Room and Pine Room, for children ages 2.5 through 6 who are fully toilet trained. Each classroom is beautifully prepared for 18-20 children and staffed with Montessori credentialed teachers and interns.

Toddler PROGRAM

Our Toddler program is an introduction to Montessori for children ages 2 through 4 who may not yet be toilet trained. Each classroom is beautifully prepared for 18-20 children and staffed with Montessori credentialed teachers and interns.
